Colorado AI Law to Target ‘Flagrant’ Violations, State AG Says

Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser said he’ll seek a “range of perspectives” in determining how a new law targeting high-risk artificial intelligence will work in practice.

The Democratic official has powers over enforcement and rulemaking under the measure (S.B. 205) signed into law Friday by Gov. Jared Polis (D)

Congress and states including California are considering bills to address how AI could affect people in matters such as employment, health care, insurance, and lending. But Colorado’s is the only broad legislation approved anywhere in the country so far.
