Colorado would become the first state to enact broad restrictions on private companies using artificial intelligence under legislation awaiting action by Democratic Gov. Jared Polis.
The state House of Representatives passed the measure (S.B. 205) by a vote of 41-22 on Wednesday as the legislative session finished. The state Senate then cleared the amended bill after passing an earlier version last week.
