Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) renewed his pledge to let voters slash property taxes in the year ahead, pressing lawmakers to pass bills that would allow homeowners to voice their displeasure with soaring bills.
“We have residents that are locked into their homes because they can’t afford the taxes on a new residence; others have been priced out entirely,” DeSantis said to lawmakers during his state of the state speech Tuesday, the first day of Florida’s legislative session.
