Divided Democrats Delay New York Budget, Again: States of Play

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and her fellow Democrats running the state Senate and Assembly missed yet another deadline to pass a state budget today, Raga Justin reports.

The legislature today passed the fifth extension of the state’s April 1 budget deadline, underscoring intraparty divisions over Hochul’s policies. The new stopgap runs through Wednesday.

Hochul, Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, and Assembly Speaker Carl E.
