Driverless Car Legalization Push Stalls

Labor groups tied to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and the AFL-CIO have blocked proposals this year in at least eight states nationwide—including New York, Virginia, Oregon, and Maryland—that would benefit autonomous vehicle developers, Zach Williams reports.

“The Teamsters will do everything in our power to block any dangerous AV bills that do not include human operator requirements and a right for local communities to determine their own regulations,” spokesperson Matt McQuaid said. “Our fight is nationwide.”
