Businesses Push Back on CA Privacy Rules

Data brokers, trade groups, and online platforms are urging California’s privacy agency not to pursue new rulemaking on consumers’ privacy rights, saying they already face enough compliance challenges, Cassandre Coyer reports.

Businesses largely called for non-binding guidance over formal rules in response to questions from the California Privacy Protection Agency. Comments were published Wednesday.
