Hochul Signs NY Bill Restricting Social Media Feeds for Teens

New York has become the first state in the nation to place curbs on how social media platforms present content to minors under a measure signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) on Thursday.

Platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, operated by Meta Platforms Inc., will need parental consent to use algorithmic feeds or notify underage users between midnight and 6 a.m., according to the language.
