More states explore accepting crypto for tax payments

COLORADO AND UTAH, the first two states to accept cryptocurrency for tax payments, are influencing Arizona, Louisiana, and Ohio to follow suit despite a lukewarm response from taxpayers.

  • Arizona came close this year to passing a bill directing the state to accept crypto for taxes, fines, and fees. An Ohio lawmaker introduced similar legislation last month. Additionally, Louisiana’s treasurer just announced the state would accept crypto as payment for certain state services.
