New York plans to enact restrictions on phony election materials manipulated by artificial intelligence, a key state lawmaker said.
“If there is any violation of this new standard, then the person that is affected can go to court to get injunctive relief to force the bad actor to stop,” Assembly Elections Chair Latrice Walker (D) said in an interview Wednesday.
She said the legislation, which would be included in the state budget, also would allow people to get related attorneys fees and costs.
