New York Moving to Pause Data Centers

Election-wary New York lawmakers are moving toward approving a one-year ban on new data centers as residents fear the large energy users could raise utility costs, Raga Justin reports.

Legislation introduced late Monday night allows for the pause in permits, among other guardrails, such as energy efficiency goals and a definition of the utility rate class for data centers.
