Enforcement of an Oklahoma law that penalizes companies deemed to boycott the oil and gas industry has been placed on hold by a state judge, bolstering arguments that such laws are confusing to implement.
An order Tuesday from the Oklahoma District Court in Oklahoma County granted the request of a retired public employee to temporarily block the law. Don Keenan, backed by advocacy groups, sued Oklahoma Treasurer Todd Russ (R) over the state’s 2022 Energy Discrimination Elimination Act.
