Porn Site Age-Verification Bill Picks Up Traction in California

A Republican-backed measure (A.B. 3080) that would make it harder for minors to access pornography sites has garnered widespread bipartisan support toward a floor vote soon in the California Assembly.

The bill by Assemblymember Juan Alanis (R) that would require such sites to verify the age of their users passed out of two committees in April with no opposing votes. California is one of numerous states considering such measures to protect minors from sexually explicit content.
