A DATA-DRIVEN PRICING BAN proposed in California won’t advance this year, the sponsor first told Bloomberg Government on Thursday. The state Senate Appropriations Committee narrowed the measure to apply only to grocery prices, which Assemblymember Chris Ward (D) said weakened the bill that would have been the nation’s most comprehensive effort to ban surveillance pricing.
