Texas Migrant Arrest, Deportation Law Largely Blocked Again (1)

Key parts of Texas’ state-level migrant arrest and deportation law were blocked for a second time by a federal judge, who said he still believes authority to regulate immigration matters belongs only to the federal government.

“Indeed, it is implausible to imagine each of the fifty United States having their own state immigration policy superseding the powers inherent in the United States as a nation,” Senior US District Judge David Ezra said in an order Thursday.
