Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) is proposing more than $800 million in new taxes next year to help stabilize the state’s Medicaid program, including new levies on digital advertising, smoking, and gambling, Michael J. Bologna reports.
- Presenting her executive budget for fiscal year 2027, Whitmer recommended six new tax programs to support Michigan’s Department of Health and Human Services.
