A contestant from the popular TV show RuPaul’s Drag Race sued a California woman Friday, alleging trademark infringement and unfair competition over the use of the stage name “Lexi Love.”
Cody Barnes, who performs as Lexi Love, claims Selena Scola holds a trademark registration for the name that Barnes has used continuously since 2009 for drag performances across the US, she said in complaint in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Scola allegedly uses the “Lexi Love” name for digital personas and AI-driven talent services.
