Elon Musk will be allowed to have high-profile lawyer and Quinn Emanuel partner Alex Spiro represent him in an ongoing investor suit that alleges the billionaire manipulated Twitter’s stock price in advance of his acquisition of the company.
Judge Charles R. Breyer of the US District Court for the Northern District of California on Monday rejected the investors’ motion to disqualify Spiro as his trial counsel on the basis of being an “advocate witness,” reasoning that the tech mogul provided consent and that the investors failed to show “palpable prejudice.”
