No Proof to Be Required for Texas Judges Logging Working Hours

Texas judges will be taken at their word when it comes to how much time they’re spending on cases, the state supreme court announced in a preliminary order Friday, opting against requiring proof or detailed documentation of their work.

Only a sworn statement from district court judges is required in the twice annual reports, the justices said in the order, which could change following a public comment period.
