Grant Dorfman and his fellow Texas Business Court judges have been doing something unique: marketing the new court to bring in new cases.
It may be working. Parties filed 185 cases in the court’s first year that ended Aug. 31. In the five months since, at least 120 came in. It’s growing in other ways, too. The court held its first bench trial in November and could see its first jury trial next week.
