Ireland Opens Consultation on Tax Breaks for Dividend Income

Ireland is considering a plan to offer corporate tax breaks for dividend income and foreign branches.

The proposed participation exemption—released Thursday by the Finance Ministry—would exempt certain qualifying foreign dividends from corporate tax. The ministry wants to include the proposal in its 2024 finance bill and is considering a similar exemption for branch income, according to the consultation.
