A measure to require more disclosure on amicus briefs was withdrawn by the federal judiciary, months before it would have gone into effect.
In a March 10 letter to the US Supreme Court that was made public on Thursday, top judges who are part of the courts’ rule-making process said they were withdrawing the proposed amendments after leadership at the Judicial Conference—the judiciary’s policymaking body—raised concerns about the changes.
