Ban Expanded on Ten Commandments Postings in Arkansas Schools

An Arkansas school district that implemented a state law requiring the posting of the Ten Commandments in schools and libraries was told to remove them.

This case is one of several proceeding in the wake of the US Supreme Court’s change in how it views such cases inthe 2022 prayer case, Kennedy v. Bremerton School District. The new test requires courts to focus on what the Founders would have considered inappropriate, replacing the more stringent Lemon test that considered a law’s purpose, effect, and potential for government entanglement when determining whether a law was too religious.
