House Republican leaders plan to clear bipartisan legislation as soon as next week that would add dozens of judges to the federal trial courts over the next decade.
House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said Wednesday the plan is to bring the so-called JUDGES Act (S. 4199) to the floor next week, sending it to President Joe Biden’s desk in the final weeks of this legislation session.
“We want to pass it,” Jordan said in a hallway interview. “Hopefully next week.”
