The Supreme Court will hear arguments April 29 in a case testing the legality of President Donald Trump’s attempt to take away a legal shield that prevents some 350,000 Haitians and Syrians from deportation.
The justices on Friday updated their April argument schedule to hear the consolidated dispute, which implicates the Trump administration’s move to revoke so-called Temporary Protected Status designation for immigrants from certain countries.
Lower courts previously blocked the administration from revoking TPS for people from Haiti and Syria, a status that allows people to temporarily live and work in the US.
