Teenagers who’ve been held by immigration authorities are suing the Department of Health and Human Services for re-detaining them instead of releasing them to family.
The department’s Office of Refugee Resettlement has held the teens for months without due process or evidence that their sponsors could no longer take care of them, according to a Monday complaint filed in the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
