Top Democrats Refer Noem to DOJ Over Alleged False Testimony

Senior congressional Democrats referred Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to the Justice Department for a possible criminal investigation, accusing her of making false statements under oath during recent oversight hearings on Capitol Hill.

Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and House Judiciary Committee ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) sent a letter Monday to Attorney General Pamela Bondi alleging Noem repeatedly misled lawmakers during appearances before the Senate and House Judiciary committees earlier this month. The Department of Homeland Security denied the claims.
