President-elect Donald Trump chose Harmeet Dhillon, best known for litigating conservative free speech cases and advocating for Trump in court and on television, to lead the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division.
Dhillon, who as assistant attorney general for civil rights would assume control of anti-discrimination and voting rights enforcement, is Trump’s latest of multiple loyalists and personal lawyers he’s selected for senior roles at DOJ—a department he’s pledged to overhaul with more trusted appointees in a second term.
