The Judicial Council of the Second Circuit backed the decision to toss allegations that a federal judge created an abusive workplace environment for clerks, after the judge pledged to take corrective action.
In a March 25 order, the council, which oversees misconduct complaints for courts within the Second Circuit, denied a petition to review Second Circuit Chief Judge Debra Ann Livingston’s decision dismissing a complaint against the unnamed judge.
The New York-based Second Circuit Court of Appeals reviews decisions by federal trial courts in New York, Connecticut and Vermont.
