NBA Player Rozier Facing New Bribery Charges in Betting Case

NBA player Terry Rozier, who was accused last year of participating in a wide-ranging gambling scheme, faces new charges that he accepted a $100,000 bribe to withdraw from a game in 2023 so his co-conspirators could collect on bets tied to his performance.

Rozier, 32, was named in a revised indictment Thursday that added charges of bribery in sporting contests and honest services wire fraud conspiracy in 2023, when he was with the National Basketball Association’s Charlotte Hornets. The latter charge carries a maximum penalty of as long as 20 years in prison.
