The US House Armed Services Committee is proposing contracts of up to seven years for some critical munitions that would be key for any conflict in the Pacific as part of its draft $1.15 trillion defense authorization bill for fiscal year 2027 released Tuesday.
The panel is scheduled to consider the measure on June 4 and didn’t include the $350 billion in mandatory spending that the Pentagon requested as part of its budget proposal.
