BGOV OnPoint: House Appropriators Move First Fiscal 2027 Bills

House appropriators moved the first two of twelve spending bills for fiscal 2027 through the full committee this week.

The House Appropriations panel advanced the Financial Services-General Government and Military Construction-VA funding measures, while subcommittees approved the Agriculture-FDA and National Security-State bills on Thursday.

The first steps in the appropriations process come weeks after the Trump administration sent its $2.2 trillion budget request to Congress, calling for a major boost in defense spending and cuts to most nondefense agencies.
