Bill Easing Fire Control Impact on Emission Limits Passes House

A bill that would prevent controlled burns and other efforts to mitigate wildfires from contributing to state emission limits passed the House in a 220-198 vote.

Known as the Fire Improvement and Reforming Exceptional Events Act, the bill (H.R. 6387) amends the Clean Air Act and requires the Environmental Protection Agency to revise regulations to provide for more exceptions to air quality standards for states.
