FAA Extension to March Passes House as Expiration Deadline Looms

The House passed a short-term extension of the Federal Aviation Administration’s authorities — punting the thorny negotiations over a five-year policy bill into an election year as the Senate’s stalemate drags on.

The chamber voted 376-15 on Monday to extend the FAA’s authority through March 8. The measure (H.R.6503) now heads to the Senate where that chamber will need to pass the stopgap bill before the agency’s current authority expires at the end of the year.
