When President Donald Trump swung by Congress this week to order Republican lawmakers behind his tax and spending cuts bill, House Agriculture Chair GT Thompson’s (R-Pa.) biggest relief was that agriculture didn’t get mentioned.
“It was great to be with President Trump this morning in the conference meeting, it was even better the fact that agriculture wasn’t talked about,” Thompson deadpanned to reporters Tuesday.
