House GOP Proposes $58.5 Billion Energy and Water Funding Bill

House Republicans are proposing $50.36 billion for the Energy Department’s budget in fiscal year 2027 amid a push to strengthen national security and reduce domestic spending.

The proposal is $456 million lower than the Energy Department’s discretionary funding Congress enacted last fiscal year and less than the Trump administration’s fiscal year 2027 request of $53.9 billion.
