HUD Secretary Expresses Issues With Two Housing Bill Provisions

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner opposes two provisions in the House’s amended affordable housing bill that could create “operational challenges” for the department, he told Republican congressional leaders Friday.

Turner wrote a letter obtained by Bloomberg Government to Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D) and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) expressing his concerns over two sections related to renters’ disputes in the House’s amendment to the Senate’s 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act.
