Energy Secretary Chris Wright is asking lawmakers to push forward with broad environmental permitting reform.
“We need to make it so you can build in America,” Wright said during a Wednesday House Appropriations subcommittee hearing on the administration’s proposed budget.
Reforming the federal environmental permitting process has bipartisan support amid a nationwide push to get more energy projects and data centers up and running. The House has passed multiple bills on the issue, and the Senate is expected to release a package in the next few months.
