Small Business Procurement Drops Following Changes (1)

Small business procurement slipped during an uneven year for federal contracting as companies navigated policy changes under the Trump administration.

Among the hits to small businesses were revisions to the Federal Acquisition Regulation that affected procedures for small business set-aside procurement, as well as thousands of small vendors’ contracts being canceled from late January through April.

Initial data for fiscal 2025 shows $155.6 billion in obligations to small businesses, $22 billion less than the total annual fiscal 2024 level.
