South Carolina Lt. Governor Tells GOP ‘Be Bold’ on Redistricting

South Carolina Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette is accusing some Republicans in her state of being too cautious about redrawing congressional maps.

In an interview Friday with Bloomberg Government, Evette (R) defended efforts to turn South Carolina’s congressional map into a possible 7-0 Republican delegation and brushed aside warnings from some GOP senators that the move could politically backfire.

“I think we are standing at a point in time where we have a president that is bold, and we as Republicans need to be bold, too,” Evette said.
