Utah’s Republican-led legislature will decide early next month on new congressional district lines that will then advance for a state judge’s consideration.
The state’s redistricting committee on Wednesday discussed six possible maps, including one from Utah’s Democratic legislative leaders.
Proposed maps are subject to a 10-day public comment period ending Oct. 6, when the redistricting committee will make a final recommendation to the legislature convening later that day in a special session. Legislators are prohibited from considering partisan data.
