A federal judge dismissed a suit from Illinois and Chicago challenging the mobilization of National Guard troops to the area, noting that the federal orders authorizing the Guard’s presence have expired.
If the Trump administration decides to send troops to Chicago again, it would presumably do so under the authority of a new order that could be challenged in a new lawsuit, Judge April Perry of the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said in court Monday.
