One of the highest-profile lawsuits stemming from “Operation Midway Blitz” was dismissed Thursday at the request of the protesters, journalists, and clergy who brought it.
Judge Sara Ellis granted the plaintiffs’ motion from the bench Thursday at a brief hearing, granting the motion to dismiss and decertifying the class.
The suit was filed in October as the Trump administration’s Chicago-area immigration enforcement surge swept through the city. Brought by a coalition of protesters, clergy, and journalists, the suit alleged that agents’ unjustified violence against demonstrators and bystanders violated their rights.
