Pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim has won another jury verdict in a Chicago case alleging Zantac heartburn medication caused cancer.
Plaintiff Jeffrey Halter sued the company in 2023, saying his use of the now-recalled drug exposed him to NDMA, a known carcinogen, and caused his colorectal cancer. A trial in Cook County Circuit Court concluded Wednesday with a finding in favor of the defendant, records show.
It was the eighth Zantac-related trial in which jurors either decided in Boehringer Ingelheim’s favor or couldn’t reach a verdict, according to a news release from King & Spalding, which represents the company. ...
